Sony Says No Co-Op For ‘God Of War III’

It looks like Kratos will dishing out some of his customary vengeance by himself after Sony branded previous God of War III co-op play rumours as “unfounded.”

Clark Kent says: Whew… It’s good to see that the guys over at Sony didn’t cave into peer pressure.

Rumors went into what can be described as mild overdrive when Gamer Access appeared to confirm that co-op will feature in the upcoming God of War III.

The source? A retail loyalty survey saying so. It’s not true says Sony.

“This news is unfounded,” a Sony rep told IGN. “God of War III will not have an online co-op mode.”

God of War III director Stig Rathmusen recently hinted that the game will get challenge rooms instead of multiplayer. A bit like Modern Warfare 2’s Special Ops mode, with bullets swapped for bare handed brutality.
