Warner Bros. Preps ‘The Hangover 2′
Warner Bros. knew pretty early on that it had something special with The Hangover so they actually made deals to bring back director Todd Phillips and stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis before the movie was even released.
Clark Kent says: I still have yet to see this movie. Sue me.
I was a bit worried that the immense success of the film would make it a scheduling nightmare to get the cast/crew reunited but Entertainment Weekly talked to Phillips and got the skinny on the sequel.
Phillips said that he’s about halfway through the script for the sequel but don’t expect anything expected like “yet another drunken weekend in Vegas that no one remembers.” According to Phillips the reason the first movie worked was the cast and he’s confident he can take the Cooper, Helms and Galifianakis characters out of Vegas and put them in an entirely different scenario and still have it work.
He wouldn’t speak to exactly what they’re thinking about for the plot, but it’s looking more and more like The Hangover 2 will be Phillips’ next film after he wraps Due Date with Galifianakis and Robert Downey, Jr.
