Day Job Reviews: Bayonetta
Clark Kent says: This seem like this’ll be the last Day Job Review for GIANT Magazine. If you haven’t heard by now one of my favorite places to work ever is no more. Much love goes out to everyone who I had the pleasure to be cool with there (too many to shout-out but you know who you are!). Crafted by Hideki Kamiya, the mind behind Devil May Cry, Bayonetta adds a feminie touch to the cinematic action genre. Comparisons to DMC’s protagonist Dante are inevitable, as both characters wield pistols, but that’s where the similarities end. Special commands are woven into events, finishes, executions and unique “torture combos” in which heroine Bayonetta summons devices ranging from guillotines to iron maidens to dispose of enemies. While this witch may look like a sexy librarian, her strongest attacks transform her hair into giant boots, fists or monsters, allowing her to seamlessly slice through her foes.
Clark Kent says: Now, in the last issue I say that you should “buy” this game, but really — you can beat the game with one finger… so it’s best that you rent this one, kiddos! My apologies if you went out and bought this game… :-/
