Is It Too Early For ‘Assassin’s Creed 3′…?

The dust has yet to settle on Assassin’s Creed 2, yet Ubisoft is already planning a whole new third game with multiplayer. And it could be out as early as this year.

The revelation comes via a Ubisoft press release touting the publishers bevvy of games due to hit consoles in fiscal year 2010/11.

Along with Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Driver and Raving Rabbids 4 was word of “a new episode of Assassin’s Creed, which will be the first in the series to have an online multiplayer mode.”

Assassin’s Creed 3? Sure looks like it. According to IGN Ubisoft confirmed it is “a new title featuring Ezio and packing multiplayer picking up where Assassin’s Creed 2 left off.

Ubisoft only recently dated Assassin’s Creed 2 DLC for later this month and February, titled The Battle of Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities.
