I WISH I WAS THERE: Fun In The Sun At The 2010 Super Bowl!

Clark Kent says: After the trip to L.A. I needed some more sun in my life. So it was down to Miami for the Madden Bowl. I couldn’t stay too long… but while I was there I issued a challenge to a fellow Ohioan. See who it was after the jump.Fun times in Miami. I got a chance to rest up before hitting the streets. Last time I was in Miami I didn’t get to spend much time in the sun, so I had lunch at The Clevelander’s outside bar and then got situated on the beach. Definitely was a nice change from the frigid temps in Bed-Stuy (sorry fam!). I didn’t go into all the hype that was going on in South Beach, but I made sure I didn’t miss Madden Bowl XVI event that was supposed to go down that night.

Definitely have to shout-out BossLadyNYC. We got a chance to share some laughs later on that evening as we ran into each other at a Rite Aid. She was buying some chasers for her Super Bowl party (which I didn’t get invited too…) and I was trying to get some souvenirs to bring back home. We talked about Dr. Jay’s and kept it moving… it was too nice of a day and we only had a moment before we all had to come back to chilly NYC.

While I didn’t get to run into everybody who’s been tweeting about Miami, I liked staying outside the radar. So I made my way out to the Madden Bowl. Hosted by EA Sports and Xbox 360 I was ushered in pretty smoothly and saw Chad Ochocinco of the Cincinnati Bengals watching the Minnesota Vikings’ own Jared Allen warm-up via Xbox LIVE. They say Ochocinco is a pretty approachable guy, but I’m still waiting on him to answer my challenge to play a friendly game of Madden online.

So, I’ll state it here:

Madden 2010. Xbox 360. Winner gets to choose prize (within limitations… it’s a recession). The loser has to do 50 push-ups on call via Twitter (because I don’t know son in real life.)

He probably had other things to worry about. With Baltimore Ravens’ Willis McGahee and Tampa Bay’s Antonio Bryant not in attendance for this year, the throne is empty. Ochocinco was one of eight NFL players who were looking to be the king of Madden Bowl 2010. Chris Johnson (Tennessee Titans), Maurice Jones-Drew (Jacksonville Jaguars), Jared Allen (Minnesota Vikings), Andre Johnson (Houston Texans), Patrick Willis (San Francisco 49ers) and Miles Austin (Dallas Cowboys) all were fighting for the title.

The competition was fierce. Trash talking was evident. Huge shout-outs to Edelman for looking out for me while I was enjoying Miami. In the end, there can be only one and EA Sports Peter Moore gave the trophy to Maurice Jones-Drew. Sucks I couldn’t stay though, I ended up getting a text from the homie Bosslady, and ended up back on the beach, chillin’ in the sunshine.

Clark Kent says: #WHODAT, #WHODAT… GO SAINTS!!! If you haven’t got familiar with I WISH I WAS THERE, please do by clicking here!
