The Los Angeles transplant left the cozy confines of Cleveland, Ohio to further her acting career. After making a name for herself in localized commercials for McDonald’s and the Calvetta Brothers, Bella made her feature film debut alongside Ryan Gosling in George Clooney‘s The Ides of March.

In this week’s installment of VIRGINIA SLIMS, Bella Ivory plays casting director and let’s us know which classic videogame she’d like turned into a summer blockbuster; answers which videogame character she’d have cyber sex with; and explains how she lost her video game virginity. Enjoy!

Don’t Lose Your Day Job: Name two people you are attracted to in the industry and why? What would you like people to be attracted to when it comes to you?

Bella Ivory: The people that I’m attracted to are Reggie Bush and Lupe Fiasco. It’s obvious why I like Reggie, but with Lupe, he’s dope because he’s just very conscious and influential. I think we would have a lot in common. Quite honestly, Lupe is my future husband [laughs]! I would personally want people to be into me for both those reasons—conscious and influential. I want to be thought of as somewhat attractive because with rappers like Lil Wayne on top of the game, Black girls/women need someway to know that they are beautiful if the mainstream isn’t going to show it. I want to be a role model and influence a lot of people towards the good.

DLYDJ: PS3 or Xbox 360?

BI: [Laughs] I’m so old school, I have to show my gaming age with this one: Super Nintendo [laughs].

DLYDJ: 2012 seems to be the year where every nerds fantasy is heading to the big screen. The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, and there’s even talk of a Need for Speed movie. If you could pick one video game to be turned into a blockbuster film—what would it be and why?

BI: I told you that I’m straight Nintendo, right?! So, I’ll have to say that I’d love to see a Donkey Kong live-action movie [laughs]. I just think that would be so cool after seeing Planet of the Apes, it could be another big monkey action movie! If I was in charge of casting, I could see James Earl Jones as the voice of Donkey Kong. Dixie Kong would be Dakota Fanning; Diddy Kong would be voiced by Shia LaBeouf; but I don’t know about the rest of the Kong family—it’s pretty extensive!

DLYDJ: When did you lose your video game virginity?

BI: [Laughs] I think I was like 6-years-old and my first game was, of course, Duck Hunt for the NES. I remember how much fun I had playing it. I was never really good at the more advanced video games. I don’t think I have the finger coordination, but I really enjoyed Duck Hunt. I enjoyed losing my video game virginity to it [laughs]. As I got older, I took some typing courses to improve my finger coordination!

DLYDJ: If you could have cyber sex with one video game character who would it be and why?

BI: I know this guy doesn’t have the best videogames, but he sure is hot to look at. I’d have to say Superman. [Laughs] Let’s see if kryptonite is his only weakness!

DLYDJ: As an actor, the key to being a success is mastering believability. With that in mind, what are three ways someone can make you believe that they’re a videogame fiend?

BI: If they have a GameStop membership then that is one way to get my attention on their fiend-dom-ness! If they have every system known to man and still lives in their mama’s basement, then they’re alright with me. [Laughs] I’m just kidding about the latter part of that. If a gamer wants to show me how much of a fiend they are then they’d have to have Lost Saga downloaded on their PC.

DLYDJ: If you ruled the video gaming world, you would…?

BI: I’d try to cut down on the Grand Theft Auto type of games that flood the market these days. I’d want to change the way that they are and make them more interactive—like the [Nintendo] Wii and Xbox Kinect. The goal would be to take the popular games and use them to cut down on some of the childhood obesity levels that we have here in America.

DLYDJ: The best way to convince your girl to get into playing video games would be to…?

BI: I think that the best way is to try and get a game that your woman can relate to and then slowly pull her deeper into your gaming world. For example, I think a lot of people would try Dance Central 2 even if it was just for exercise—as long as you were playing with her. If she is into fitness then get a game that’s in the field of her interest and she’ll get used to the thought of being a gamer. Your suaveness should be able to be used to broaden her horizon.

Don’t Lose Your Day Job: Name two people you are attracted to in the industry and why? What would you like people to be attracted to when it comes to you?

Wahidah Fowler: When it comes to my Fine Arts career, I am attracted to the style of Kehinde Wiley. He is extraordinary to me because he is a young, African American artist that went places many artists of the 21st Century have not gone. He puts artist of color on the map and places masterpieces of Black figures in museums and that is a feat rarely seen today. He paints Black men in such a positive light by allowing the figures that he creates to look powerful, heroic and majestic while still dressed in urban attire. He is a true example of an individual that did not change for the industry, but instead forced the industry to change for him.

When it comes to my own presenting career, I am most attracted to Wendy Williams. I enjoy the fact that she is outspoken and is not afraid to give her opinion no matter what the consequences are. She takes up room, has a big personality, big hair and a big mouth [laughs] I appreciate her success because it shows that you can always grow! She shows that no matter how much one has accomplished or what hurdles one has encountered, you can still elevate yourself to a higher plateau.

Lastly, when it comes to me, I want people to be attracted to my diversity. I am a true renaissance woman and I enjoy taking on multiple tasks and mastering each one of those tasks to the best of my ability. I want them to look beyond my physical appearance and know that i am more than what meets the eye.

DLYDJ: PS3 or Xbox 360?

WF: Nintendo Wii [laughs].

DLYDJ: As a gorgeous gamer, you’ve probably heard a ton of nice, creative compliments throughout the years, but what would be your top five worst come-ons of 2012, so far?

WF: I am a New Yorker so when I was exiting out of a station’s turnstile this man asked if I could swipe him through. I swiped my card for him and then he said, “Can I take you out?” I responded, “Didn’t you just ask me for a metro card swipe?” I kept walking. Another time this guy said, “Hey Ma!!???” I quickly said, “Sorry, I’m not interested.” “Why?” he said. “I have and a man,” I responded. The guy had the nerve to say, “And I have a girl!” I thought that she must be a very lucky lady—which abruptly ended the conversation.

The third worst come-on I ever experienced had to do with a guy who wanted his hair done. Funny thing was, he had a bald head. “Hey, can you do my hair?” he asked. I promptly ignored him [laughs]. There was this one time where a guy had asked me, “Are you a personal trainer?” I wasn’t and still am not in the business of training people, so I answered, “No.” Considering himself witty, this guy said, “You can still work me out!” Another ignore. The last, and possibly worst, come-on I received was when this guy was trying to get my attention by saying, “Hey miss…” I pretend as if I couldn’t hear him because I didn’t feel like being bothered. He insisted on getting my attention!

Just when I thought I escaped the harassment, the guy yells out, “DAMN GIRL! YOU HAVE A TONED BOOTY!!!!” At that moment, I’m still pretending as if I can’t hear him, but then he screams out at the top of his lungs, “DAMN GIRL! YOUR BOOOOOTTTTYYY!!!” I’m heading towards the train station and this guy is literally walking behind me, bellowing out to anyone who will pay him any attention, “LOOK AT HER BOOTY! DAMN GIRL!!” Now, I am on an escalator and he’s standing at the bottom still screaming. He just stayed there screaming. I even heard him when I waited for the train to take off and a bit while actually on the train. It was insane! Only in New York, right?!

DLYDJ: When did you lose your video game virginity?

WF: I lost my video game virginity to Mortal Kombat when I was about eight-years-old. That game was so amazing! I had it for my [Sega] Genesis game system at the time. I was always Sheeva because she was fly with her beautifully toned body, multiple arms and the ability to kick butt! She really held it down for the ladies.

DLYDJ: If you could have cyber sex with one video game character who would it be?

WF: Mario from Super Mario Bros. because I have loved that game my entire life! So that means I have loved him my entire life [laughs]!

DLYDJ: What is more attractive in your opinion? A nerd or a geek?

WF: I honestly feel like geeks have more character. They stand out! People usually say, “There goes that geek!” or “Look at the Geek Squad!” That is really cool to me. I say embrace who you are and love it. On the contrary, though, I think that nerds blend in. You cannot tell who is and who is not a nerd. So, with that in mind, my vote of attractiveness goes to geeks!

DLYDJ: If you ruled the video gaming world, you would…?

WF: …Create games that portray characters of color in a more diverse light. Videogames are just as stereotypical as television when it comes to characters of color being showcased to the mass public. Usually they’re limited to being a basketball player, thief or killer! I wonder will there every be a Super Mario Brotha?

DLYDJ: Last question, Wahidah… The best way to convince your girl to get into playing video games would to be to…?

WF: Make sure that every time you convince your girlfriend to play, especially if it is a fighting game, you let her win. That way when you stop wanting to play, she would start! [Laughs] I know, clever, right!?!

Widely considered as one of the world’s top female gamers, StarSlay3r has been gaming since a young youth, and began beating fools for their pocket change (we keed, we keed) since 1998. In 2006, the Texas transplant gained the attention of MTV for being a top 10 Guitar Hero 2 player at the CPL tournament held in Dallas. From there Ciji utilized her respect within the gaming industry to rack up appearances on reality TV shows such as WCG Ultimate Gamer and Sony‘s The Tester.

In this week’s installment of VIRGINIA SLIMS, Ciji Thornton shares her competitive gaming crushes, reminiscences on how she lost her video game virginity, and fantasizes what she would do if she ruled the video game industry. Enjoy!

Don’t Lose Your Day Job: Name two people you are attracted to in the industry and why? What would you like people to be attracted to when it comes to you?

Ciji Thornton: Alessandro ‘Stermy’ Avallone is definitely one person. He’s good looking, but also he’s very smart, kind and a total badass when it comes to Quake! He’s definitely someone I look up to in the gaming world. Another person I’d say is Lim ‘Slayers Boxer’ Yo-Hwan! He’s definitely good looking and amazing at StarCraft. His persona is one that definitely grabbed my attention. But when it comes to me… I don’t really care too much if people are or are not attracted to me. I don’t think that what I do should revolve around looks as much as overall skill and influence in the gaming industry. While it is nice to get compliments on my looks, I don’t think that looks should play a big part in the pro-gaming scene and I would rather have people respect me for what I have done in the community over how I look at a tournament or something.

DLYDJ: PS3 or Xbox 360?

CT: I used to be hardcore into PlayStation until I started competing professionally in 2006. Once I learned that most of the tournaments were ran on [Xbox] 360 I decided to get a 360 with my winnings from a Guitar Hero 3 pre-release tournament and it has been my console of choice ever since. My main reasons for preferring the 360 are 1) It’s the main console for most tournaments I enter. 2) The majority of my friends have the system! 3) I love the console exclusives. I don’t hate the PS3, I just don’t have any intentions of dishing out $250 for the console and replacing all my games and peripherals for that system any time soon. It’s too expensive!

DLYDJ: Finish this scenario: You’re locked in a tie-breaker with a competitive Guitar Hero player. What song would you pick to walk home with the championship?

CJ: Hmmm… I think I’d pick the “Mercyful Fate Medley” on Guitar Hero: Metallica. On top of it being challenging, it’s one of my favorite songs to play in the series.

DLYDJ: When did you lose your video game virginity?

CJ:  I started playing games when I was just a child. My grandmother was big into Super Mario Bros. on the NES and my dad also bought us a NES. After seeing that and then getting one of my own—I was hooked! My parents mostly got the system as a learning tool from what I remember. I had various edutaining games like Sesame Street ABC and 123-type games along with the usual Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt. I enjoyed gaming so much that I just never stopped playing as the years went on.

DLYDJ: If you could have cyber sex with one video game character who would it be?

CT: [Laughs] Ahh, sheesh! That’s such a crazy question! I’d have to say Squall from Final Fantasy VIII could get it—hands down!

DLYDJ: With gaming reality shows like Ultimate Gamer and The Tester being popular to both hardcore and casual gamers — what is the next grand webseries in your opinion? 

CT: I think Ultimate Gamer was definitely a show that was entertaining and got people who weren’t into gaming to realize how big competitive gaming is—which was a great step in the right direction. The Tester couldn’t quite compare to Ultimate Gamer at all. In the future, I’d love to see more shows like Ultimate Gamer crossed with CGS. I would love to see a more serious reality show that highlights professional gaming and big money, but I’m not sure shows like that will survive the test of time. Unfortunately people don’t care to watch other people play games for hours, and their thirst for drama and entertainment is something that will make it really hard for video game reality shows to stick around for a while.

DLYDJ: If you ruled the video gaming world, you would…?

CT: If I ruled every aspect of it? Hmm… that’s a tough one. I can’t think of some epic thing I’d do, I’d just create a game I’ve always wanted… Rock Hero. [Laughs] My favorite parts of Rock Band and Guitar Hero would be combined! Damn, that would be one epic game. But other then that, I’d love to create and run more tournaments and sponsor gamers. It’s hard to find sponsors and raise money to do such things these days, but I suppose if I ruled the video game world I could make anything happen.

DLYDJ: Last question, Ciji… The best way to convince your girl to get into playing video games would to be to…?

CT: There’s multiple ways you could try to tackle that one. You could ask her to play with you and see if she gets hooked on the games you already love and play. You could take your knowledge of her likes and try to find a game related to that and introduce it to her to see if it peaks her interest. For example… if she loves music you could introduce her to Guitar Hero or Rock Band. If she loves to dance in real life, maybe introduce her to a dancing game, etc.

I think the biggest problem guys have is that they either just complain about how their girl isn’t a gamer but they never take the time to ask her if she’d like to learn, and/or the females do try to play but they get beat down or smack talked to the point that they get discouraged and decide not to play anymore. Not every girl is going to be super amazing at games, and not every girl will be able to take the smack talk or criticism involved in leveling up so the best thing to do would be to introduce games to her slowly, and in a relaxed environment.

Teach her a few things, have her play against you and your friends, maybe even take her to a local arcade for some matches against random people, just try to avoid throwing her in a deathmatch for a FPS game online for her first time so that she has a positive first experience and isn’t turned off by the idea.

Don’t Lose Your Day Job: Name two people you are attracted to in the industry and why? What would you like people to be attracted to when it comes to you?

Kelly Kelley: Ezio Auditore! He’s basically everything that I would want in a man back in that time. Heck, even by today’s standards he’s a dream! He’s stupid strong, brave, crazy, likes to leap from high places without a hint of fear, probably a good gamer, and not to mention gorgeous! The other guy I’m attracted to is Kevin Butler. He’s like Zeus to me [laughs]. I don’t really pride myself in being pretty or obsessed with looks. I just wear stuff that is comfortable for me when I play. But when the after-parties do come around… I like to rock a nice dress and some awesome pumps!

DLYDJ: PS3 or Xbox 360?

KK: Xbox 360 is my heart and soul. I feel like this is truly the perfect system for the people that I’ve come across in this industry. Working at GameStop opened my eyes to the deals that Xbox gives over the PS3 the majority of the time! Yeah, yeah, we had the “red ring of death,” but also gamers were able to have a free warranty for three years! The latest hack of the PlayStation 3 made me think that experiencing the RROD wasn’t the worst thing that could happen. Simply put, the bottom line is this: We have Halo and Gears of War, and you don’t!

DLYDJ: If you were in an epic battle similar to the calamity in this year’s Soul Calibur V — who would be your opponent and why?

KK: No one. I don’t really care for the Soul Calibur series, and yes, I’ve played it! I just don’t like it. To be plainly honest, I’ll use some Super Street Fighter characters instead. The match would be Chun Li versus Juri. It would be an epic chick match. Yeah, yeah, you may think it to be cheesy, but I love those girls—especially Chun Li. I have a major girl crush on her!

DLYDJ: When did you lose your video game virginity?

KK: [Laughs] I was told that I lost it at age 3. I popped that cherry years ago! My dad told me that I first picked up the controller at age 3, and pretty much had each system growing up. I gradually learned to love all things nerdy, geeky, gaming, et cetera. So, naturally, I picked the path of a professional gamer! Personally, I can’t remember a thing past about six years ago, as I have long term memory loss from a huge accident I had as a kid in third grade. But I asked my pops and he confirmed that Duck Hunt was the one I lost my video game virginity to! I am sure that I had a blast since I was also raised around shotguns, assault rifles, and pistols!

DLYDJ: If you could have cyber sex with one video game character who would it be?

KK: [Laughs] Nathan Drake. Thank goodness you didn’t ask why because I have no freaking idea!

DLYDJ: If you ruled the video gaming world, you would…?

KK: If I ruled the gaming world there would be bigger payouts for competitions and more tournaments for gamers to showcase their talent. I would show the real world how amazing e-Sports can truly be. Oh, I’d also ban any pro-hoe—can’t forget that!

DLYDJ: Last question, Kelly… The best way for guys to convince their girl to start gaming would be to…?

KK: The best way is to start with something small, and then figure out why you do or don’t like gaming. If your woman has a problem with the controller then you should have something like the Nintendo 3DS in the house—which can help with that problem. It has the one analog stick and from there you can slowly move through the consoles. I mean, we all had to learn the double sticks somehow, right?! I hope that helps you guys out there to get your girlfriends to become gamers!

Kay Cola: If I had to comment on whom I’d be attracted to in the video game world then it would have to be Sonic the Hedgehog. There’s something kinky about that spikey hair that does it for me [laughs]! Plus, he can run super fast! [Laughs] I’m really super attracted to Tupac [Shakur]. His eyes carry so much weight behind them and that smile could literally light up a room. Rest in Peace.

DLYDJ: PS3 or Xbox 360?

KC: [Nintendo] Wii.

DLYDJ: Retro City Rampage is a throwback game with plenty of dope sounds. If you could remix any classic videogame song—what would it be and why?

KC: I would have to say that I’d remix the Super Mario Brothers song because it is so memorable and is always a catchy tune.

DLYDJ: When did you lose your video game virginity?

KC: [Laughs] I was about five or six-years-old, and I lost it to an Atari soccer game. It was fun because the players had boxed-heads.

DLYDJ: As a musician it must be tough when you put out emotionally charged music that doesn’t get well-received. With that said—how did you feel about Kanye West’s getting snubbed from last year’s Grammys?

KC: I’m indifferent. Kanye is a creative genius, but I feel as artists that we shouldn’t measure our success or talent through accolades from the Academy. The whole process can be very political and have nothing to do with one’s talent or music. I’m pretty sure Kanye isn’t losing any sleep at night over it.

DLYDJ: If you ruled the video gaming world, you would…?

DLYDJ: Last question, Kay… The best way for guys to convince their girl to start gaming would be to…?

KC: Tell her that it will burn calories [laughs]!

Don’t Lose Your Day Job: Name two people you are attracted in the industry and why? What would you like people to be attracted to when it comes to you?

Kahlelah Goodine: The first person in the industry to whom I am attracted to is Terrence Howard. Not only is he sexy, but he also has the ability of playing both protagonist and antagonist roles—which adds to his overall mystique. Not to mention he can play the acoustic guitar—and I wouldn’t mind him serenading me! [Laughs] The second person I am attracted to is LL Cool J. I had the pleasure of working his pre-Grammy dinner, as one of the Hennessy Girls. I had never looked at him in that way, until seeing him in person that night. He’s tall, muscular, of course he has those scrumptious set of lips, and yes—he’s both a talented rapper and actor.

When it comes to those being attracted to me—I would like for guys to be attracted to my facial features and physique—but I also desire attraction to my mind. Also, I would like for them to be interested in the things I have to say. All too often I am mistaken for a random model who cannot think pass her next shopping spree. There is so much more to me than just my looks and occupation and I’d love for someone to be curious enough to see what else is within me.

DLYDJ: PS3 or Xbox 360?

KG: [Laughs] Neither. I’ll take [Nintendo] Wii for the win, sir!

DLYDJ: You’ve probably heard a ton of nice, creative compliments as a spokesmodel on the auto show circuit. But what would be your top five worst come-ons of 2012 so far? How did you respond?

KG: Technically, I wouldn’t consider many of the compliments to be “nice,” because they come from a shallow place. I’ve heard the usual, just in different variations, all in poor effort to strike a conversation amidst my timed vehicle presentations. The most typical are: “Do you come with the car?” “Boy, your feet must hurt from standing for so long.” “So, you’re here to make the car look good?!” “The car is nice, but you look better!” “I didn’t come to see the car, I came to see you.”

More often than not, I just smile as best as I can, utter a thanks, and look the other way [laughs]. It takes everything with in my power to not beg angry. Yes, they may be “compliments,” but eventually it becomes excessive, rather condescending, and verging on the point of harassment. Some guys even laugh and admit, “I just wanted to harass ya!” This industry is not for people with short fuses—because these guys will try you.

DLYDJ: When did you lose your video game virginity?

KG: I guess that I lost my video game virginity when I was about 5 or 6-years-old old. It was to Atari. I’m not to sure I can reminiscence on the experience. Other than that I can say that the experience was fun!

DLYDJ: If you could have cyber sex with one video game character who would it be and why?

KG: I hate to disappoint you, but I don’t have a cyber fantasy about a video game character, per se. But if Optimus Prime came to Earth—he could probably get it. He’s a leader; he’s only aggressive when the need arises, and keeps order throughout the galaxy.

DLYDJ: Awhile back XXL Magazine wrote a piece counting how many times LL Cool J licked his lips during the Grammy’s. Did you do the same during his pre-Grammy dinner? How was the experience?

KG: Because I was working at the Playboy mansion, I did not get to see the Grammys. At the pre-Grammy dinner, though, I still could not focus on LL. Hennessy had us on our toes—working swiftly! Unfortunately, I was not able to keep tabs and join in on the lip-licking count [laughs].

DLYDJ: If you ruled the video gaming world, you would…?

KG: If I ruled the video game world, I would probably give first dibs to my nephew, and order game techs to teach him how to create games and build software/hardware. That way, he can make money while having fun.

DLYDJ: Last question, Kahlelah… The best way for guys to convince their girl to start gaming would be to…?

KG: The best way to get my girls to play video games would be to start on the Wii. We all like Wii games, so that will get us going. I doubt any of us would want to graduate to Call of Duty or anything like that. I’ll leave all that extra crazy stuff to my nephew [laughs]

Don’t Lose Your Day Job: Name two people you are attracted in the industry and why? What would you like people to be attracted to when it comes to you?

Jovon Eldridge: [Laughs] I’d have to say Pharrell [Williams] and Nicole Scherzinger are just drool worthy in my opinion. I’m attracted to Pharrell for his looks, his mind, and sense of style. Nicole, on the other hand, is purely based on looks! I am attracted to her entire aura. But honestly, when it comes to me, I want my look, my mind, and my footwear to be the things one is attracted to to name a few.

DLYDJ: PS3 or Xbox 360?

JE: Not really interested in either, man! I’m more into old school games like Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and the [Nintendo] 64.

DLYDJ: What are the five worst songs to play at the beginning of a party and why?

JE: That’s really hard to say! It depends on the crowd you’re playing and who’s there when you go on. For example, if you’re doing a party for mostly older folks or kids, obviously your first track wouldn’t be something uncensored like Big Sean‘s “A$$” or “P****” by Iggy Azalea [laughs].

DLYDJ: When did you lose your video game virginity?

JE: I was young, actually, like five or six-years-old probably. I was a heavy video game user when I was growing up. I had Nintendo systems and a bunch of handheld games. The last few years I just lost interest. I play the NBA 2K series from time-to-time or dance games on the Wii or Xbox Kinect.

DLYDJ: If you could have cyber sex with one video game character who would it be and why?

JE: [Laughs] Lara Croft from Tomb Raider. She’s hot and if you see how she’s upgraded herself, boy, you’d want her too!

DYLDJ: It’s no secret that you’re a sneaker fiend, right? If you could tell Michael Jordan one thing he should’ve learned before dropping those Concords—what would it be and what J’s would you have worn when you said it?

JE: I would probably say thank you, I guess. The Concords are one of my favorite style of Jordans, but I would definitely have on the Black Cement 3‘s when I said it since I wear those a lot!

DLYDJ: If you ruled the video gaming world, you would…?

JE: [Laughs] I’d take that money from ruling the gaming world and use it to fund my other businesses!

DLYDJ: Last question, Jovi… The best way for guys to convince their girl to start gaming would be to…?

JE: Sexual favors. Or if you’re more competitive about your gaming, plus you know your girl is too—then you should put up that mean green (money)!

Don’t Lose Your Day Job: Name two people you are attracted to in the industry you’re in and why? What would you like people to be attracted to when it comes to you?

Jo Garcia: [Laughs] I am not attracted to anyone in my industry—they are all girls! In the entertainment industry, it’s hard to be attracted to anyone that you haven’t met. When you see celebrities you treat them like everyday people because they are. And just like everyone else looks don’t keep me interested. I need to talk to someone first before I can claim that I am attracted to someone.

DLYDJ: PS3 or Xbox 360?

JG: It used to be PlayStation for years because I am a huge RPG girl and I absolutely love the Final Fantasy series. Since it was only PlayStation, I lived by my PlayStation! But with all great games that are exclusive to both consoles, I cannot choose which one is my ultimate favorite anymore. The real question should be PSN (PlayStation Network) or XBL (Xbox Live) and for that I will have to say Live is the best. There are more people in the community, their dashboard has a better interface, and I haven’t been hacked there… yet!

DLYDJ: If you were in an epic battle setting similar to Soul Calibur V — who would your opponent be and why?

JG: I don’t think I would want to go head-to-head with any bad guy. But, if I had to, I could tell you who I would want on my team. I would have Kosmos from Xenosaga because she is just full of surprises; Rikku from Final Fantasy X because you can always use a good thief; Chun Li from Street Fighter because her lightning kick is almost unstoppable; Lara Croft just in case we run into some puzzles that need solving and Kratos from God of War to take care of all the heavy fighting.

DLYDJ: When did you lose your video game virginity?

JG: I was seven-years-old and when I was a kid, my dad was heavy into computers! He had a computer that played a game that had three colors: yellow, green and white. The backdrop was black. I remember a game that I used to play on it with what looked like a half pipe with an airplane in the center. You had to dodge obstacles that were coming towards you. It felt kind of like Luke [Skywalker] when he was trying to destroy the Death Star by going in that valley. It was the first time I fell in love with a game. Then, later on, came school, you know that game with the mouse and the cheese on the Commodore 64 (Ed. Commodore 64 Mouse Cheese) and Oregon Trail. Also, I absolutely loved Where in the World is Carmen San Diego on the Mac!

DLYDJ: If you could have cyber sex with one video game character who would it be and why?

JG: It would have to be with Nathan Drake. He looks like he smells of adventure! He’s not a bad guy, but in a sort of seductive way, he is! He’s exciting and he has this passion that would make the cyber version of me very curious [laughs].

DLYDJ: What is the most extreme thing you’ve ever done while at a midnight release of a new game?

JG: The most extreme thing that I have ever done for a game release is something that I’ve already done [laughs]! I waited outside for 22-hours in the rain, so that I could buy a PlayStation 3. Even though I get to go to midnight releases often, I don’t usually have to stand in line for games anymore. We more often than not get review copies in the mail before the games hit stores so we can review them. So, if I am in a line, it is because a friend needed a wing man [laughs]. Personally, I come to the midnight releases to see what people are looking forward to so that I can cover it in my vlog.

DLYDJ: If you ruled the video gaming world, you would…?

JG: If I ruled the video game world, I would make every game available as a livable adventure! Most people want to take trips to exotic places, but I want to go to places that I see in my favorite video games. I would create a theme park or something that allows you to visit such places. A world created by gamers for gamers.

DLYDJ: Last question, Jo… The best way for guys to convince their girl to start gaming would be to…?

JG: I think that guys need to take the lady they’re seeing or interested in to a store and let her choose a game to play. If you find something that she is interested in and steer her towards games that will pique her interest then she may be curious to see what else is available for her to play! For example, my friend got his non-gamer girlfriend into gaming by introducing her to the Xbox Kinect and Dance Central game. He made her use the controller to select the songs just so she could get use to it. Now, she plays other games because her first experience was good and she learned about the scary Xbox controller a little at a time.

Zoly Martinez: I’d have to say that I’m attracted to the lovely Naomi Campbell and the incredibly gorgeous Adriana Lima. They’ve managed to stay focused in their career and go very far as both models and business women! When it comes to myself, though, I would love for people to be attracted to my personality because I like to express and be myself!

DLYDJ: PS3 or Xbox 360?

ZM: PS3!

DLYDJ: If zombies were to come back from the dead, as they do in Capcom’s Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City — could a guy ask you out on a date amidst all that calamity?

ZM: [Laughs] It would be a great challenge to remain calm! To be able to focus on a guy long enough while in the midst of all my fear is quite the feat, but I would want the guy that’s interested in me to distract me. He would have to find some sort of diversion for the both of us to escape the dark reality—is that even attainable in the middle of a zombie attack [laughs]? He would have to be a very special, heroic type of guy. An Indiana Jones man! If he is rugged like that to keep my interest then I would want him to make me feel safe and let me know that everything will be a-OK — that would be a great date!

DLYDJ: When did you lose your video game virginity?

ZM: I lost it at the age of 14. As a teenager, I took my video games very, very seriously [laughs]! I used to get frustrated quite easily during gameplay. Nowadays, I just enjoy myself! Whether it’s Dance Central or [Super] Mario Brothers, I think to myself that it is just a game, and, if I lose, I just laugh about it.

DLYDJ: If you could have cyber sex with one video game character who would it be and why?

ZM: Super Mario, of course! He always saves the princess and is so heroic! I would like to think that if I was the one he saved that I could rescue him right back—like in Pretty Woman—and together we’d live happily ever after!

DLYDJ: If you ruled the video gaming world, you would…?

ZM: If I had such a power I would make video games less violent! I would make them more constructive for both adults and kids; more creative to those who needs a jolt of imagination; and more fun… if that’s even possible [laughs]!

DLYDJ: What are the five best ways proven by you that keeps one “Forever 21″…?

ZM: [Laughs] The five best ways proven by me that can keep you “Forever 21″ are:

1. Focus.
2. Discipline.
3. Respect.
4. Creativity all day, every day!
5. Always give it your all in whatever you do. 100%!

DLYDJ: Last question, Zoly… The best way for guys to convince their girl to start gaming would be to…?

ZM: You guys can teach us your tricks and tactics when playing games, so it becomes easier and more intriguing to play. This guy and I were playing some sort of video game where he had to give chase. The deal between us was if he were to find and kill me—in the game—I would have to kiss him. [Laughs] I was lost in the game the entire time. I either killed myself over and over again or he would find and off me [laughs]. Of course, I had to kiss him, so I gave up and gave in. We ended up kissing so I think we both won that round… I will always remember that day!

DLYDJ: Name two people you both are attracted to in the industry you’re in and why? What would you like people to be attracted to when it comes to you?

Sherine Kenny: Currently, I’m in the technology industry, and there really isn’t anyone who I’m physically attracted to [laughs]. I will admit that the brilliance that is Bill Gates, and of course, the late Steve Jobs are impeccable. I really don’t care or am really concerned with what attracts people to me. If I did focus on that then I don’t think I would be the true me. But just for the sake of actually answering the question, I think the one thing that I’d like for people to be attracted to is just that—that I don’t focus on what others think or what attracts them to me. That’s not my business.

DLYDJ: PS3 or Xbox 360?

SK: I’ve never owned or even played a PS3. So my answer is Xbox 360 by default.

DLYDJ: Between Max Payne 3, Mass Effect 3 and Street Fighter x Tekken — which out of the three will be getting your money?

SK: More than likely it’ll be Street Fighter x Tekken. I love Street Fighter and Tekken, so both of them together should mean an interesting experience. Although, the last time I actually owned or played either game was on the very first PlayStation.

DLYDJ: When did you lose your video game virginity?

SK: [Laughs] My dad had an Atari system ever since I was a baby. He allowed me to start playing with it when I was about three. So, that means I lost my virginity in 1984. The experience was amazing from what I can recall. Not only was it just the video game that was fun, but the idea that I was finally able to play with something that I was not allowed to touch years before. It’s very similar I think to how my daughter’s experience will be. She see the Xbox and my [Nintendo] Wii; she sees the controllers and she knows they do something. I know when that time comes when she is finally allowed to play with it—it’s going to be awesome! Plus, I’m an only child, so video games and books are what have kept me company most of my life.

DLYDJ: If you could have cyber sex with one video game character who would it be and why?

SK: Jin Kazama. He’s my favorite playing in Tekken and yes I find him to be very attractive [laughs].

DLYDJ: For those who follow your adventures on Twitter, it’s no secret that you’re a true cinephile. What are some dope movies that folks might be sleeping in line for in 2012?

SK: Wow. Let’s see there’s Lincoln with Daniel Day-Lewis, the 21 Jump Street movie definitely, and I may check out Men in Black 3. Of course there’s Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2, but I really don’t know if people are really sleeping on those, but those are the only big budget movies that I’ll be checking out. I’m really an independent/foreign film kind of gal. Three of my favorites that I’m enjoying are Gomorrah, Let The Right One In, and Rec. From my experiences those are the three foreign films that even a person who doesn’t care for foreign films will enjoy.

DLYDJ: If you ruled the video gaming world, you would…?

SK: …be a whole lot richer than I am right now.

DLYDJ: Last question, Sherine… The best way for guys to convince their girl to start gaming would be to…?

SK: I don’t think you can really convince someone who isn’t into video games to play. If it’s something they are not genuinely interested in—you can’t force them. I thought that as I got older, I’d outgrow my love for video games, but I was wrong. The same way you can’t force someone to like it is the same way I can’t really force myself to no longer be interested in them. Trust me, there are tons of female gamers, it’s just a matter of finding them!
