Clark Kent says: Remember when they said GeoHotz hacked the PS3? Well someone else has tried their hand at toppling the gaming giant and has a video as proof. Read more after the jump.

If Internet reports and a YouTube video are to be believed, the PS3 has been hacked. The video hosted on YouTube shows a non-slim PS3 with some kind of device in the USB port. God of War 3 is shown being installed from the game disc onto the system’s hard drive. A launcher menu is shown, from which inFamous is shown being loaded.

Hopefully Sony will be able to combat the hack with a new version of the PS3 firmware. Sony Europe issued a no comment when contacted earlier today.

Clark Kent says: It’s always a little bit sad when something you love finally comes to an end. In this case, Kratos is out to do one thing — kill Zeus — but was his last hooray the stuff of legends? Find out more after the jump.

GOOD: ‘God of War’ was nothing short of perfect and after the ending to the sequel, audiences were salivating at the hint of a third and final tale. Again blending combat, platforming, and puzzles, Kratos’ chaotic ride is story-driven wrapped in 1080i goodness. There’s literally something new around every corner. The level design feels like you’re climbing up Mount Olympus alongside Kratos. Throughout his journey the sights become more dazzling, the enemies (both new and old) come out the wood-work, and you get some new weapons to play with. Sony Santa Monica has done little to change the game, but it adds a unique flair to pay homage to the first two stories.

BAD: With weapons like the Bow of Apollo, Claws of Hades, and Nemesis Whip — to name a few — it would have been nice to have more weapons that were truly unique like the Nemean Cestus pick-up. The inclusion of the Titans as a “friend/foe” type factor in ‘God of War 3′ — it’s hard not to notice how they make everything else seem less grandiose in scale. You begin the game fighting on Gaia’s back as she ascends Mount Olympus and once you get indoors, solving a puzzle or fighting bosses only twice Kratos’ size, only seems normal when you compare it to what’s going on outside. One can only imagine how the game may have been if there were a few more Titan levels/fights over the course of the game.

UGLY: ‘God of War’ had the best story in the history of the game’s franchise and the sequel had everything you wanted with combat and button-mashing. When it comes down to Kratos’ final bow — it ends as the most consistent and varied of the three games. Not as focused as the first, nor as moment-packed as the sequel, but you can find very little to complain about in the end. Rip Torn stands out vocally as the god of blacksmiths — Hephaestus. His voice comes deep from his chest giving his words a glimpse of sadness that carries weight. On the few occasions you meet him in the game you get a hint at how a snip here and a cut there would have improved the game. T.C. Carson delivers the chaos as Kratos and Natalie Lander (Pandora) gives a surprisingly strong performance. Her voice adds greatly to the game.

Fans of the series have been waiting in anticipation for more God Of War III footage. Well fans, you’re in luck, because the latest episode of GameTrailersTV features the footage everyone has been waiting for, filled with sheer epic Kratos madness.

Last night’s episode of GTTV was brimming with God Of War III in-game footage as well as a first glimpse at some of the titans Kratos will face, including Cronos.

IGN’s got up a making-of video for God of War III’s Leviathan.

Kratos’s last stand will be released on March 16 in the US, with a March 25 release in Japan.

The title is predicted to be out in the UK on March 19, although that is only a projected date so far according to SCEE.

A new trailer will debut this Thursday.

Darksiders, Dante’s Inferno and God of War 3 share more in common than just gameplay styles and a similar release window – their heavy dose of religious referencing is likely to see all three skip a release in the Middle East.

Speaking of Dante’s Inferno, EA stated that is had “decided not to release Dante’s Inferno in the Middle East after an evaluation process which is based on consumer tastes, preferences, platform mix and other factors”, according to GamesLatest.

Similar concerns have already lead to THQ’s Darksiders being blocked from release in the region by the UAE’s National Media Council, though the regulator never officially stated the reasons for its decision.

The original God of War was also banned by the UAE, and whilst there’s not yet been official word concerning God of War III, a release is looking quite unlikely.

Middle Eastern gamers looking for a dose of high quality third person hack ‘n’ slash action are, at least, able to get their hands on Sega’s Bayonetta.

Evan Brody, the Marketing Manager of Slurpee & Big Gulp Brands, has announced that PlayStation 3 ‘Kratos Fury’ is invading local 7-Eleven stores as part of some cool God of War III promotions.

To quote Brody: “I’m the guy who gets to work with cool properties like God of War III to create promotions for Slurpee drinks. For those of you who can’t get enough of Kratos before the March release (let’s face it, that’s most of us), I’ve got some exciting news to share!”

“For the past few months we’ve been busy working with our good friends at Mountain Dew and at SCEA to formulate the perfect blend of ferocious blackberries and frosty limes to create “Kratos Fury,” the featured Slurpee flavor for the months of February and March at your local 7-Eleven stores.”

To sweeten the deal, this vengeful delight will be available in one of four exclusive God of War III Slurpee cups. The limited Kratos Fury flavor and exclusive God of War III cups will hit 7-Eleven stores across the U.S. starting next week.

Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed their long-awaited action game God of War III will arrive on the PlayStation 3 March 16.

A Sony public relations representative broke the news earlier on the official PlayStation blog.

Along with standard versions of the game, the publisher is releasing an Ultimate Edition, which will include a documentary, art book, additional combat arena challenges and a replica of Pandora’s Box.

God of War III follows protagonist Kratos as he scales Mount Olympus for a final encounter with Zeus.

In an exclusive interview with CVG, presumably fuelling the hype cogs a little, Sony’s product manager for the game, Claire Blackhouse, has claimed that God Of War III is a “must have” and is “set apart” from other next-gen games on the market.

She reckons that Sony’s latest blockbuster provides “unmistakable realism”.

For almost five years now, Kratos and his Blades of Chaos have been causing some enjoyable destruction for gamers. But when God of War first hit the PlayStation 2 in 2005, critics and fans didn’t know what to expect. Within days of its debut, it was obvious that the killer of Greek gods — and the folks behind the title — had breathed new life into the hack-and-slash genre.

Winning numerous Game of the Year awards, the title was an instant success and extended the lifespan of the PlayStation 2 as it headed towards the end of its console cycle. Chocked-full of blood, guts, gore, and lore that inducted the Greek warrior into legendary status alongside the likes of Mario, Sonic, and Solid Snake, God of War heralded the coming of an anti-hero who didn’t rest his blades when it came to inflicting chaos. No one — not minotaurs, Cerberus or even the original god of war, Ares — were safe.

With God of War III‘s release in March 2010, Kratos finds a new and final home on the PlayStation 3. Displaying his trademark brand of violence in full 1080p, high-def televisions will be stained with the blood of enemies both unearthly and godly. The warrior is in full “hell on Earth” mode, and this go-’round marks the end of Greek mythology, but continues the tradition of offering a Hollywood experience.

God of War III will be the last tale of Krato’s storied adventures and the news is sure to leave gamers daydreaming of ways to incorporate the warrior into other titles or special guest appearances. Kratos featured in Heavenly Sword 2 or the next Soul Calibur? Could be… but in the end Kratos’ run to the top of Mount Olympus wound up putting him among the gods of the video-gaming world. Come next year we’ll finally get to see him rip the crown from Zeus’s head.
