Here is the officially official HD teaser trailer for the all-new A-Team. Or, as it shall henceforth be known, Tank vs. Plane.

In this teaser, we learn that nostalgia for the 80s TV version is as much the order of the day as contemporary carnage (check out the famous theme, the rejigged opening monologue and that line from Hannibal Smith), and that tanks still work just fine when they’re falling from the sky. TANK VS. PLANE!

Liam Neeson is a suitably white-haired Hannibal, Bradley Cooper and his washboard stomach are Templeton “Faceman” Peck, Rampage Jackson is BA Baracus, and Sharlto Copley is Howlin’ Mad Murdoch – sportin’ a Southern accent that just might justify his claims that he can do any accent, if his dialogue here is anything to go by.

The release date is July 30, Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces) is the director and the Scott Brothers are the producers.

Dwight Schultz – aka the original ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock – has apparently shot a cameo in the forthcoming A-Team movie.

Clark Kent says: This is shaping up to be a good flick to see. What do you think?

According to The Official Dwight Schultz Fansite, the TV star recently filmed his scene on location in Vancouver alongside the new team.

Schultz also spoke about District 9 star Sharlto Copley playing the iconic role on the big-screen, saying that the South African actor is “brilliant beyond words.”

Referring to Copley’s screen test, Schultz said, “Honestly, if Sharlto is given an opportunity to do what I saw in that test, Murdock will be better than ever!”

As for the rest of the original A-Team, George Peppard (Hannibal) sadly died in 1994, but Mr. T (B.A. Baracus) and Dirk Benedict (Face) are still going strong, so here’s hoping 20th Century Fox find cameos for the pair of them too.

With District 9 tearing up the US box office, there’s been a flood of speculation about the next step for its star, the insanely naturally-talented first-time actor Sharlto Copley, who played the lovable hero, Wikus van der Merwe.

Clark Kent says: I STILL have yet to see ‘District 9,’ I plan on changing that soon…

But we have to confess that we didn’t see this one coming: according to Blackfilm.com, Copley has been approached to play Howling Mad Murdock in Joe Carnahan’s The A-Team.

Apparently, the deal is only at the offer stage, but while Copley might have slight concern at being typecast as a goofball, we’d be amazed if he didn’t take the role of the team’s borderline insane pilot, thus filling out a cast that already includes Liam Neeson as Col. Hannibal Smith, Bradley Cooper as Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck, and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson as B.A. Baracus.

When Empire spoke to Copley recently, he confessed to being uncertain about his next step. And while we feel that he has true leading man material – check out that jawline! – it might not be such a bad thing for him to play fourth banana in a big-budget movie, and therefore reduce the pressure on him to knock it out of the park second time round.

Also, let’s face it, it’s pretty damn good casting. Copley is a naturally funny, and hugely confident, guy, and has enough quirk about him to make him a worthy successor to Dwight Schultz, who originated the role on the TV show.

If Copley does sign on, he won’t have much time to prepare – filming has already started on the movie in Vancouver, with an eye to a summer release.
