Clark Kent says: After all these years and Armand Assante’s portrayal — the questions remains — after the jump.

VIA E:

Why now? He’s looking to tell his side, apparently. “During the past 20 years, there have been numerous made-for-television movies, books and other representations about me, my father and our family,” Gotti Jr. says in a statement. “None of these projects were done in cooperation with my family and in most cases did not accurately reflect our lives. This film will not be a mob expose, but rather the true story of my life and relationship with my father.”

There were rumors back in June about Sylvester Stallone possibly getting together with the younger Gotti to make the movie, but nothing seems to have come of that.

Clark Kent asks: Would any studio really want to get involved with the Gotti family? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Clark Kent says: I’m there!!! ‘Nuff sed.

VIA CS:

A&E presents Steven Seagal Lawman, a new Real-Life series that will chronicle martial arts expert and international film star Steven Seagal’s extraordinary life in law enforcement on Wednesday, December 2nd at 10PM ET/PT on A&E with back-to-back episodes.

Seagal’s movies have grossed more than $2 billion worldwide. He is an expert martial artist with a 7th-degree black belt in aikido. Along with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, he is considered one of the film industry’s greatest action stars. But it turns out that Steven Seagal isn’t just an action hero in the movies. For almost 20 years, Seagal has been working as a fully-commissioned deputy with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana. In fact, in addition to going out on patrol, Seagal is an expert marksman who has worked with their SWAT team and has instructed Jefferson Parish officers in firearms and hand-to-hand combat.

“I’ve been working as an officer in Jefferson Parish for two decades under most people’s radar,” said Seagal, “I’ve decided to work with A&E on this series now because I believe it’s important to show the nation all the positive work being accomplished here in the New Orleans area to see the passion, commitment and fine police work that comes from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in this post-Katrina environment.”

Clark Kent says: Wow! You do NOT want to mess with Steven Seagal. As a die-hard fan of ‘Hard to Kill’ — I’ll be watching this one. But how come Seagal isn’t a part of ‘The Expendables’…?

The new Judge Dredd movie just got a bit more interesting, with 2000AD artist Mark ‘Jock’ Simpson announcing on his Twitter page (as reported by MTV) that Alex Garland would be writing a draft of he script.

VIA IGN:

Garland previously wrote The Beach, 28 Days Later and Sunshine for Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle.

Simpson’s exact tweet was: “Working through script visuals for Judge Dredd movie. Alex Garland writes a great script.”

The news is actually not that much of surprise, considering Danny Boyle’s production company DNA Films is shepherding the project, along with 2000AD publisher Rebellion.

Nonetheless, the involvement of such a talented writer should hopefully ensure this version of Dredd fares better than the 1995 effort, which starred Sylvester Stallone in the title role.

Clark Kent says: This will be waaaaayyyyy better than the Sly Stallone flick. But even that has its charm and appeal. Remember?

VIA SF:

Stallone had hinted that he hopes to take the character into a “slightly different genre,” leaving many fans to speculate sci-fi or a more comic bookish approach. He later was quoted as saying that “this is the last Rambo just as Rocky Balboa is the last Rocky.” Yeah right…

Nu Image/Millennium Films have officially announced a greenlight for Rambo’s fifth mission, with Sylvester Stallone signed on to return to star and also direct. No word on if Stallone will also write this latest adventure, but I would say it’s a strong possibility considering that he wrote the screenplays for the previous films.

According to Variety, Rambo will fight his way “through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border.” Doesn’t sound like the big departure that Sly had previously promised (but then again, he also said that there would never be a fifth Rambo film).

Earlier this year, the not-so-reliable British tabloid paper The Sun reported that Mickey Rourke had agreed to play the villain in a fifth Rambo. There has also been rumors that Stallone was looking to film the sequel in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia, which would actually serve as Rambo’s hometown “somewhere in Arizona.” I’m not sure if those were totally bunk, but it sounds like it.

Stallone is currently doing post production on The Expendables, but production on Rambo 5 will start in the spring.

Clark Kent says: I’m looking forward to seeing ‘The Expendables,’ but another Rambo film, eh… not so much.
