Entertainment Weekly has posted two new photos from The CW’s Smallville: Absolute Justice TV movie that airs on February 5th. Included in the shots are Green Arrow (Justin Hartley), Hawkman (Michael Shanks), Doctor Fate (Brent Stait) and Stargirl (Britt Irvin)!

Spike TV and Ubisoft announced today that the Assassin’s Creed: Lineage short film will be aired on Spike TV, on Wednsday, November 11th, at Midnight. Originally hosted on Youtube, you may also see it here, if you can’t wait ’til the 11th.

The Duke of Milan is murdered, and assassin Giovanni Auditore is sent to investigate. He attempts to thwart a conspiracy that threatens to implicate all of the prominent families of Italy, including the Vatican itself.

Assassin’s Creed: Lineage is developed by Hybride Technologies, the studio behind 300 and Sin City. The short film combines live-action and CGI to create an introduction to Assassin’s Creed II, centering around Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, father of Ezio Firenze, and flesh out the backstory to the events that lead to the game.

The Trickster is back to f**k with Sam and Dean Winchester in “Changing Channels,” the eight episode in Supernatural’s fifth season. Charles Beeson directed the episode with teleplay by Jeremy Carver.

Clark Kent says: This was one of my favorite shows on the CW and since I have no cable, I’ve missed out on some episodes. But I won’t miss this.

The Trickster (guest star Richard Speight Jr.) throws Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) into an alternate universe where they are characters in different television series, including a sexy medical show, a Japanese game show, a forensics show and a sitcom.

The brothers realize the only way to get out of this world is to play along and become the characters in the shows. However, Castiel (Misha Collins) appears and warns them this universe is dangerous and they must get out before they become trapped.

According to the cast of the former CW TV show, The Game, it looks like what we reported several weeks ago has finally come to pass.

Earlier this week, actress Tia Mowry from the canceled CW show “The Game” tweeted photos of the show’s cast on a flight to Atlanta with the caption, “On the plane with @pooch_dog and the cast of the The Game! yeeah baby!” Other cast members tweeted similar messages, including Pooch Hall, “Yo the Kid and the GAME Cast is in the building on our way 2 the HOTEL! I luv stayin @ the _ Hotels! Atl thank u for having me… I’m hype.”

It was reported on a few sites that BET finally picked up the show and the cast were all flying to Atlanta to film new episodes, however that is not the case. Necole reached out to a source at the network who told me that the cast were flying to Atlanta as guests on “The Mo’Nique show” only and there is still no deal.

It seems that The BET Network has stepped up to save the show and picked up the show from the CW network to produce and broadcast a fourth season of the show. As of this writing, we hear that the entire cast of the show including Tia Mowry, Pooch Hall and Wendy Raquel Robinson are all being flown to Atlanta to commence shooting the series.

We hear that since the entire cast was on board for a fourth season, BET and CBS Television Studios were able to hammer out a lower, cable-appropriate licensing fee with which new episodes could be produced.

According to our source, the idea of BET stepping forward and saving The Game actually came from the show’s cast.

The Weather Channel plans to show movies for the first time in its 27-year history and it’s easy to guess which one is leading off.

The George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg movie about a horrific storm off the New England coast will air on Oct. 30, the 18th anniversary of the actual storm. Network executives had been thinking about adding movies, and the timing proved too good to pass up, said Geoffrey Darby, the network’s chief programmer.

The network in recent years gradually slipped in longer programming, including a morning show hosted by Al Roker, to complement its constantly rotating forecasts.

The Perfect Storm begins a four-week period in which The Weather Channel will try some Friday night movies.

The films are either weather-themed or have plots in which weather plays a key role, Darby said. Meteorologist Jennifer Carfagno will host movie night and offer commentary.

Other movies include the documentary March of the Penguins, the thriller Deep Blue Sea and Misery, for which Kathy Bates won an Academy Award.

The weather angle is pretty clear in The Perfect Storm, but Misery? Darby noted the nightmare endured by James Caan’s character begins with a blinding snowstorm.

For The Weather Channel, the risk lies in alienating its regular weather-obsessed viewers, who tune in for news of high pressure systems rather than high drama. The potential reward is that new fans will tune in, and they’ll stay on the station for a longer period, pleasing advertisers.

Darby said most viewers on Friday night aren’t interested in much more than the weekend forecast, and that will be updated on the screen six times an hour.

“It’s a way to respond to at least a significant portion of our audience that says, `Let’s expand the definition of weather,’” he said.

The idea predates NBC Universal’s purchase of The Weather Channel, Darby said. None of the first four movies are distributed by NBC Universal.

VH1′s Behind The Music: 50 Cent will feature exclusive, never-before-seen footage of the G-Unit leader promising to retire if Kanye West out-sold him in a SoundScan challenge.

The 2009 VH1 Hip Hop Honors took place last night and many of the hip hop world’s biggest stars gathered at the event, to celebrate someone being recognized as a “VH1 Hip Hop Honors” inductee. But this year, the event apparently broke new ground.

According to MTV.com, instead of it being an act such as LL Cool J or Grandmaster Flash, it was an entire record label that got honored. The record label we are talking about is Def Jam Records, which is 25-years old and was founded by Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin.

But with this record label being the most influential rap imprint in history, is it any wonder it was chosen for a VH1 Hip Hop Honors? It was LL Cool J’s music that kicked off last night’s event, as he was the face of Def Jam Records for many years.

There were some great performances at the televised event, by acts such as Rick Ross, Eminem, Public Enemy, The Roots, Gym Class Heroes, Foxy Brown, Mary J. Blige, Method Man, Ludacris, Ghostface, Trey Songz, DMX and many, many more.

Queen of Comedy Mo’Nique is going where no African American woman has gone before – the host desk of a late-night talk show.

Clark Kent says: Mo always had me rollin’ when she hosted The Apollo. So I can’t wait to be able to stream episodes of this on my laptop.

The Mo’Nique Show premieres tonight on BET with first guest, Mo’s good friend and fellow comedic actor Steve Harvey. Yes, it’s another first for blacks and black women specifically. But how did it happen?

“The same way that I got called on to the ‘Apollo’ is the same way that I walked into this talk show,” Mo’Nique said of the pioneering opportunity. Just as she had received a call from show producer Suzanne DePasse about hosting “Showtime at the Apollo,” she got a call from another African American female pioneer for her new show.

“This amazing sister named Loretha Jones, who is now president of programming at BET called me up and said, ‘I am going to be the new president at BET, and I would love to be in business with you. Can you come in and talk and have a meeting?’ I said, ‘Sure.’ When I went in and sat down with her, I immediately knew that she got it,” she said. “I’ve met with every executive that’s ever been at BET, but when we walked out of the room with that sister, we knew that she got it.”

Monique said that it was her husband, who also co-executive produces the show with her, who came up with the idea for a late-night show for her.

“I actually had three other talk show pilots. The first one I had with Disney. It was me, Wendy Williams, and they kept switching up the third lady, so we didn’t know who that was going to be. That didn’t go,” Monique said.

Incidentally, Williams’ Fox talk show is syndicated on BET and will air after Mo’Nique’s.

“Then I had another talk show deal with Fox at the same time Queen Latifah had her deal. They took both our shows to the President of Fox at the time and he said, ‘No one knows Mo’Nique, but we know Queen Latifah.’ I said, ‘Go ahead Queen, ‘cause it will make it easier for the next one of us coming through.”

Not too long after, Mo’Nique got another talk show deal, this time with Telepictures. However, a month later, as Mo’ described, Tyra Banks came through the door.

“I see the shift going to Tyra,” Mo’Nique recalled.

After speaking about the issue with company execs, they finally explained that they couldn’t “sell” Mo’Nique to the higher ups. And as history has revealed, Tyra’s show took off.

“But I was happy for Tyra. I said, ‘If you get in there, it’s going to make it easier for the next one coming in. So this time, there was no pilot. It was me, my husband, and Loretha Jones. That’s how we came up with ‘The Mo’Nique Show.’”

The comedic star said that she didn’t take any of the failed attempts as a negative and she said that she completely understood that execs weren’t confident in her name at that time.

“I wasn’t in a place where I could say, ‘I can’t believe he said that nobody knows me.’ It wasn’t my time for that. When it’s my time, it’s the time for it,” she said. “I’m appreciative for those experiences. I am appreciative of Queen and Tyra. They made it so that I didn’t have to do a pilot. I thank those sisters. I thank Oprah. I thank Whoopi.”

With trailblazers like that, Mo’Nique is pretty confident about taking on any other talk show competition if she believed in external competition, that is.

“I’m not competing with nobody. What’s meant for me, I’m gonna get. What’s meant for them, they’re gonna get,” she said of fighting for the 11:00 pm TV audience. “The only person I compete with is me. I want to be the best Mo’Nique I can be. If I start paying attention to that one and that one and that one, I stop paying attention to me.”

The Mo’Nique Show is an original BET show, executive produced by Mo’, her husband and Merlin Gill. The show premieres with guests Steve Harvey and Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin. This week, Mo’ will welcome the cast of “Lincoln Heights,” Chris Rock, Hill Harper, and more.

Ghanaian-American hip-hop artist/producer Blitz the Ambassador will be featured in PBS Network’s POV Series documentary, Bronx Princess.

The stirring film spotlights a Bronx-bred teenager, Rocky Otoo, who leaves her mother in New York City to reunite with her father, a chief in her native Ghana. The film is anchored by an original, infectious West African “high-life” score composed by Blitz and performed by The Embassy Ensemble, the Afrobeat-inspired band that accompanies Blitz live in concert.

Bronx Princess is part of PBS’ award-winning “POV” Documentary series, the longest-running televised showcase for independent non-fiction films. The POV series is celebrated for its intimate storytelling and ability to put a human face on social issues.

“I related to Bronx Princess because it’s about a young Ghanaian-American who’s trying to reconcile her growth in America with her family experiences in Ghana.  So, one thing that was really important in writing and composing this score was trying to capture that authentic sound and do it how it is done back home,” Blitz says.

Blitz the Ambassador is a Ghanian-born hip-hop artist/producer whose debut album, Stereotype, was released independently on Aug. 4th and reached the Top Ten of iTunes’ hip-hop chart without any label support.  Blitz’s music is a courageous blend of the hip-hop he grew up with in Brooklyn, mixed with the sounds of Afro-beat, High-life and Jazz that he heard playing djembe in drum circles as a youth in Accra City, Ghana.  Blitz the Ambassador’s live show is an intense, uplifting set of inspiring songs and impressive lyricism, backed by a flurry of blaring horns and rumbling percussion, courtesy of The Embassy Ensemble, that has impressed crowds from SOB’s to the stage of Celebrate Brooklyn! where Blitz performed with hip-hop legend Big Daddy Kane this summer.
